Fighting Off Depression
One thing to not due while being unemployed is not to get depressed, or if you are getting depressed, find a way to take focus off of it. Sure, job searching and lack of employment can take a toll on a person. My advise is it to get involved with something or start a creative project while job hunting. Sure, online gaming can be fun as well, but I would recommend cutting out the gaming least you get side tracked and fore go your job search. When I mean get involved, I suggest something at a community center, soup kitchen, church or other community activities. It will help you go out a bit more and to interact with people, which in turn helps fight off depression.

Searching, Life, and Ideas
Nothing like just getting let go from a contract in this economy, especially when you have student loans to pay, money you are trying to save up, and put food on the table. It's like a bad break up, you have to move on with life and start again. Saying it is the easy part, moving forward and finding a new job is the tough part.
Freelancing can only help so much for some cash, I don't want to collect unemployment, and I don't want to go back to the wasteland of fast food that I worked before. I thought a corporation tapping all of my creative potential was bad, but then I remember my days of working in a fast food joint so many years ago. Thinking about how no matter what I did, I would not always gain the appreciation of my co-workers or boss. Though, I could say the same of corporations, but I don't that is always true. More of a matter of where you are working and where you are at.
I may have to work in fast food though if I want some cash coming in, and at least a steady pay check til I can either develop some business or other freelance work. If I work part time as a fast food worker, I can guarantee some money and survival or cut hours back as needed when there is some other work.
I don't know what I am thinking with starting this blog, when I have a few sites to get done and revamp on my portfolio. Somehow, I am sure this will help a few of you out there.
